4th of July, 250th Birthday

I’ve been contemplating for a long while how to start my blog and what to write. Today, seems the perfect day to start, with the hope this moves me forward. What better day than the 250th birthday of the founding of this amazing country, the United States of America.

You know what is beautiful about this country besides the beauty we see all around us are the freedoms we have. I find the founding of this country a true miracle. I know some who read this may not all agree on the beauty of our founding. That’s part of the miracle this country we have the right to disagree and better yet voice those disagreements — isn’t that beautiful.

We don’t have to agree on how we worship, how we choose to live, and so many other freedoms we probably take for granted. One thing I have learned over many years of life is we don’t have to agree and I can still like, love and care about you — isn’t that awesome, all because we have the freedom to choose unlike many other country in the world.

People want to point out all the bad in our founding fathers, why? Just like you and me we are all flawed. The more I learn about them, the more I see them as perfectly imperfect people just like we all are. I look at it this way, they lived in a different time, things were so different from today, they had to figured out what was best for the country at the time. Does that mean they made all the right decisions, no, maybe not, probably not but they were giving it a go. One thing they did understand is trying to make everything perfect right now would hurt what they were trying to build. They did their best to create something extraordinary, something awesome, something that we are celebrating today because they were willing to stand up and over the course of several years create something great, not perfect but great nonetheless.

Happy 250th Birthday the United States of American. You’re awesome, despite whatever flaws you may have. Let your flag always wave for the grandeur you are.
